A 15-year-old child migrant raped a terrified girl in a horrific masked attack after arriving in the UK to live with his mum. The rapist had been out “hunting” for a victim when he spotted the 17-year-old girl walking home. The boy, now 16, pleaded guilty last year but today had an application to have his conviction quashed by a judge who ordered him to be locked up for over four years.

The child rapist came to the UK legally after his mother had already been granted right to remain. The Daily Express is not allowed to reveal which country he came from after the sentencing judge imposed an order restricting details of his name or nationality from being made public. Worcester Crown Court heard how the boy targeted his victim after spotting her in Worcester city centre on a balmy summer evening last August.

He followed his prey the across a bridge and into the city’s Cripplegate Park, where he pounced, brutally raping her.

The rapist, now 16, came to the UK in 2023 and prosecutors confirmed the boy, who needed an interpreter in court, had a right to live in the UK.

He was wearing dark clothing and a black face covering when he carried out the shocking attack on August 10.

The court heard he had been seen loitering in the city centre and following other women before spotting his teenage victim walking alone.

His victim, now 18, was so traumatised by the attack she has had to move to a different part of the UK.

Simon Phillips, prosecuting, said he approached the girl – who was a stranger to him – and told her she was “pretty and sexy”.

He told her he wanted to have sex and said it would “only take five minutes”. When she refused he forced himself onto her and carried out the rape.

The girl subsequently managed to raise the alarm to two people walking through the park after the boy fled.

Mr Phillips said the boy’s DNA, including semen, was found by police on his victim’s clothing.

In a harrowing victim impact statement the girl said the rape had adversely affected her mental health to such an extent that she has begun self-harming and developed a drug habit, the court heard.

The boy admitted one count of rape and a charge of assault by penetration.

Senrencing Judge James Burbidge KC said there is a “high risk” he could commit further offences, and branded it “disturbing” that the youth had been looking for women and girls in the city centre.

Judge Burbidge said the boy had deliberately “pursued” his victim before “overpowering” her.

He added: “You have limited acceptance of what you have done and little interest in the impact upon her.

“There is a high risk of you doing something like this again. That is a concern to this court.”

The boy was sentenced to four years and three months in youth custody.

He must also serve an extended licence period of a further 12 months when he is released.

Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmell, who led the investigation, said: “This was an incredibly traumatic experience for the victim, and one which also shocked the local community.

“I’m pleased that the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, will be detained for a significant period of time and won’t be able to cause further harm.

“We take all reports of rape and sexual assault incredibly seriously, and I’d like to commend the victim for having the courage to report the incident to us so quickly.

“I hope today’s outcome shows that we will do everything we can to can to ensure those who commit these abhorrent crimes are brought to justice.”
